to help serve our clients.

 

Volunteer Opportunities

How satisfying would it be to be able to take a few hours of time and know that you single handedly prepared and distributed hundreds of pounds of food to those who needed it most? How fun would it be to work alongside a team of people who are akin to kindness and have the courage to move beyond good intentions and into real action?

The North Bay Food Bank depends greatly on the support of volunteers to compile and distribute the food donations we have and join our team who are dedicated to creating more smiles and having fun doing it!

We have a variety of positions (and tasks) our volunteers can fill including:

Intake Volunteer

Intake

Work one-on-one with clients. Input information into computer system. A clear police record check is required for this position.

Server

Add specified items to client hampers. Hand out hampers to clients. Heavy lifting is required.

Hamper Server Volunteer
Hamper Builder

Hamper Builder

Pre-pack hampers by following a detailed list.
Heavy lifting is required.

 

Sorter / Stocker

Weigh and track all incoming donations. Check dates, sort, and shelve all incoming donations. Keep shelves tidy and stocked.

Kitchen Volunteer

Kitchen

Portion items according to guidelines. Follow all safe food handling and health and safety procedures. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen at all times.

Special Tasks & Events

Help with special events or tasks when needed. Includes tasks such as setting up, running and taking down events. Events may include, but are not limited to: Santa Claus Parade, Blue Box Food Drive, etc. 

Will sometimes involve hours outside of our regular service hours.
